Mr. Syed Awais Bokhari
BSc, MBBS, MRCS, FRCS) AO Faculty, ATLS Faculty
Mr. Bokhari is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery (routine, complex and revision) for worn joints (arthritis) or failing prosthesis. He also offers key hole (arthroscopic) surgery for sports related injuries as well as fracture fixation for injuries sustained through trauma.
Mr. Bokhari obtained his medical degree in 2007 from the prestigious King’s College Medical University in London and since completed his specialist training in Yorkshire. Upon completing his training, Mr. Bokhari was invited to undertake his fellowship at the birth centre of hip surgery and the World renowned – Wrightington Hospital, where he refined his surgical skills to undertake complex primary and revision joint surgery. The attention Mr. Bokhari pays to his patient’s needs and then tailoring the management to obtain the best results (operatively and non-operatively) has led Mr. Bokhari to be identified as a ‘future leader in surgery’ with one of the largest global medical companies.
Mr. Bokhari practices the ‘enhanced recovery programme’ to help patients recover from their surgery quicker and uses computer assistance to plan his joint replacement operations. Alongside his NHS work, Mr. Bokhari is a registered Motorsport Doctor and has provided medical cover for National and International motor racing events (including Formula 1 and MotoGP) since 2008. Mr. Bokhari has published many articles which have led to local and national changes. He is also a keen educationist, writing medical chapters and books as well as organising courses to help senior trainees pass their consultant exams. As a result, Mr. Bokhari has been recognised as a key trainer for future consultants.
Mr. Bokhari is the Speciality Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics as well as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire. Mr. Bokhari is also faculty for the Internationally recognised AO Foundation as well as the Royal College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma and Life Support Programme. Outside of work Mr. Bokhari enjoys practising Wing Chun Kung Fu, Golf, Football, Motor Racing (motorbikes and cars) and Open Water Diving (PADI)

Mr.Qaisar Choudry
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon MD. MRCSEd FRCSEd
Mr. Choudry is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon as well as the Clinical Director for the department at East Lancashire hospitals NHS Trust. Mr. Choudry has a specialist interest in lower limb arthroplasty, surgery for the hip and knee, paediatric orthopaedics and trauma. Born and bred in Blackburn Mr Choudry took an opportunity to study medicine at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic graduating in 1999. Speaking several languages, he returned to the North West to undertake his surgical training, gaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2004 and an Intercollegiate Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2009.
He was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Surgical Training in 2010.
Mr. Choudry was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2011 having completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty as well as a paediatric Orthopaedic fellowship at the Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry. This was complemented with the AO Trauma fellowship in Stuttgart, Germany.
Mr. Choudry has a keen interest in education and research publishing and presenting Nationally and Internationally. Mr Choudry is also a faculty member for several courses run in the North West for Orthopaedic Trainees. When Mr. Choudry is not working he enjoys playing football, and travelling abroad with his family.
